Google Docs and Sheets apps get new icons as part of workspace revamp

Google Workspace is now rolling out new icons for Docs and Sheets as part of a review that was announced earlier this month. The new icons are now in the form of a full page, with a white background around it. The new design comes with version 1.20.422.01. Google has changed the name of G Suite to Google Workspace, with the goal of making it a single place for all productivity applications.

You have already rolled out updated icons for the Google Meet, Google Chat, and Gmail apps. The design update was the first stained by 9to5Google. As part of the change, the mark in the upper right corner now appears darker.
