How to recharge your FASTag with the Google Pay application

FASTag recharging can be useful when you travel from one city to another and you do not have an adequate balance in your FASTag account. Several applications offer FASTag recharge options. In this article, we will talk about how to recharge your FASTag with Google Pay. Google introduced the UPI recharge option for FASTag users through the Google Pay app in January of last year. It allows you to easily recharge your FASTag account that you can use to make hassle-free toll payments while crossing city borders in India.

Before you begin, it is important to note that you must know your FASTag issuing bank in order to top up accurately. You also need to link your FASTag account before making any recharges.

How to recharge your FASTag with Google Pay

Since you need to link your FASTag account first, below are the steps that cover the linking part and provide the details on how you can recharge your FASTag using Google payment.

  1. Now, touch the New payment button.

  2. Type “FASTag” in the search bar.

  3. Scroll down to find the issuing bank of your FASTag and select the one that corresponds precisely.

  4. Now, touch the Begin button.

  5. You will now be prompted to enter your vehicle number (without spaces) and provide an account name such as “my car” or the name of your car model for easy access in the future.

  6. Tap on the Link account button at the bottom of the screen.

  7. Review your account information, including the account holder’s name and vehicle number.

  8. Once reviewed, press the Link account button. Your FASTag account will now be linked to Google Pay.

  9. Now, you will see the screen that will have your FASTag account. Tap on the Pay button from there to make the payment (minimum Rs 200).

  10. Now, touch the Pay button at the bottom of the screen.

  11. The Google Pay application will now ask you to enter your UPI Pin to proceed with the payment.

Once the payment is made, you will receive an SMS message from your bank account linked to Google Pay. You will also be able to make future payments to your linked FASTag account in the Google Pay app by going to the Business & Invoices section.
