MI TV 5 Pro with QLED screen price and specifications
Xiaomi could be preparing to launch the Mi TV 5 series in India, consisting of Mi TV 5 and Mi TV 5 Pro, a new teaser from the company suggests. The new publications on social networks, as well as the emails sent by Xiaomi to the media, advance the next launch of a product that is ‘Quantum Leaps Ahead’. Using the word quantum dots is the Mi TV 5 Pro, which has an Ultra-HD Quantum Dot LED (QLED) display and is available in three sizes: 55-inch, 65-inch, and 75-inch.
Although, it doesn’t reveal much, the single operative word seems to be the biggest hint that it refers to the Mi TV 5 Pro. The teaser shows an animation of an eclipse rising in bright sunlight, aiming towards maximum brightness and colors higher than quantum dot LED displays usually achieve. Although a release date has not been mentioned, communications suggest that the launch could be before the end of 2020.
Mi TV 5, Mi TV 5 Pro price and specifications
the MI TV 5 and MI TV 5 Pro were launched in China in November 2019 and could have been launched in India earlier this year were it not for the global pandemic and subsequent closures in the country. The TV series is available in 55-inch, 65-inch and 75-inch sizes for both the regular Mi TV 5 and the Pro variant. All televisions have Ultra-HD displays (3840×2160 pixels). The Mi TV 5 is priced at CNY 2,999 (roughly Rs. 33,800) and up, while the Mi TV 5 Pro sells for CNY 3,699 (roughly Rs. 41,700) and up.
If launched in India, the TVs would likely retail for slightly higher prices and could start at Rs. 39,999 and Rs. 49,999 for Mi TV 5 and Mi TV 5 Pro respectively. The key difference between Mi TV 5 and Mi TV 5 Pro is that the latter has a QLED screen, compared to the normal LED display of the former. HDR support is also likely on both TVs, and models released in India could run on Android TV with the addition of the PatchWall launcher.
While Mi TV 5 has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, Mi TV 5 Pro has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage; this is considerably higher than what is offered in most premium smart TVs in India. These will be the most premium TVs launched by Xiaomi in India, and will rank considerably higher than the MI TV 4X , which is currently Xiaomi’s most expensive TV series on offer in the country.
