OnePlus 8T OxygenOS Patch Update Released for Video Playback Issues

OnePlus 8T OxygenOS Patch Update Released for Video Playback Issues

OnePlus 8T smartphones started getting the OxygenOS 11.0.6.7 update last week, bringing the OnePlus Store app for Indian users, among other things. But some of the early users who installed the update flooded the OnePlus forums to complain about various issues that came up afterwards. A major problem was the video playback on the phone that frequently stopped abnormally. To rectify this, OnePlus has released another hotfix update that has the same changelog as before, except for the change that fixes the video playback issue.

The company took its forums to announce the launch of this new OxygenOS update for the OnePlus 8T users. For Indian users, the version number is OxygenOS 11.0.6.8.KB05DA. European users get OxygenOS 11.0.6.9.KB05BA and North American users get OxygenOS firmware version 11.0.6.8.KB05AA. The changelog is exactly the same as the last update except for the addition of an arrangement. OnePlus It says that it has fixed the problem that caused the media player to stop abnormally. The update still brings with it the security patch dated November 2020, which is very surprising given that the OnePlus 8T is the company’s latest flagship and the security patches should be up to date for this phone.

The rest of the changelog is the same as the one in the latest OxygenOS update for OnePlus 8T. Once again it mentions the new OnePlus Store app for Indian users. OnePlus says the app provides users with member benefits on purchasing products and easy access to customer support. It can also be uninstalled at any time. The update also fixes an issue where the Wi-Fi connection would fail in certain situations and fixes a small probability issue where photos are not displaying in the Gallery app. It improves communication stability and also optimizes image quality in night landscape mode.

You can check for this new update on your OnePlus 8T manually by going to Settings if you haven’t received a notification yet. As with all OnePlus updates, this is an incremental rollout, meaning only a few users will get it initially and a broad rollout will begin in a few days. It remains to be seen if the video playback problem is actually fixed by this update or if some other problem arises. Let us know your experience after installing the update in the comments below.
