Paytm and Google representatives appear before House panel on personal data bill

Representatives from Paytm and Google appeared on Thursday before the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) which is deliberating on the various facets of the Personal Data Protection Bill, 2019.

The JPC will call representatives of telecommunications companies Dependence Jio and Bharti airtel and cabin aggregator companies Wave and Uber next week.

The sources said that representatives of Trust Jio They have been asked to appear before the JPC on November 4. Representatives from Ola and Uber will be called before the parliamentary committee on November 5, while Bharti Airtel and Truecaller Representatives will be called on November 6.

The JPC, chaired by BJP MP Meenakshi Lekhi, aims to collect the views of all stakeholders before the government introduces the 2019 personal data protection bill in parliament.
